Terms of Service

In line with our mission to provide reliable and user-friendly access to the world of information, Information Technology on the Queen's Campus offers a Laptop Loaner computer from the IT Service Center to active Employees, Faculty, and Students. Our primary goal in lending technology is to support the academic success of our students and faculty. These Wi-Fi-enabled devices can be used anywhere during the time of the loan period. As these laptops represent a significate investment by Information Technology, all users must maintain proper supervision and care of the equipment, abiding by the Computer Network Use Policy.

General Information

  • Users are fully responsible for the laptop's care and its components during the booking period.

  • If a problem occurs while the laptop is in use, please return the device to the IT Service Center in the Marillac 1st Floor Breezeway immediately during our hours of operation.

  • Save files to a removable drive or to a cloud storage account. The University is not responsible for data loss. Upon return of the laptop, all data – including files and software on the laptops will be erased immediately. Files will not be recoverable once a device has been checked in at the return of a booking.

  • Anti-virus software is installed on all laptops. Information Technology is not responsible for viruses encountered during computer usage.

  • In the event that there are unforeseen closures to the Service Center, such as weather occurrences. Late fees may be waived. Borrowers maintain responsibility until the devices can be checked back in.
